Anik Dutta returned home from the hospital after seven days on 16 January. His family members accompanied him while coming back home. He was admitted to a hospital in south Kolkata with a lung infection. He was in the ITU. Anik's wife Sandhi Dutta said that Anik has been suffering from COPD for a long time.
Anik is now much better, and the lung infection has been treated. Doctors advised him a complete bed rest for the next few days. Anandabazar Online contacted Anik's daughter Oishi Dutta, who said, “My father is much better now. He has to be on complete rest for the next two weeks. Routine checkups will also be there.”
Anik was not well for the last few days. He recently attended an award event in the city. Those who were present there said that he had trouble climbing the stage. But the director was not ready to be admitted. He was busy with the pre-production of his next film Joto Kando Kolkatay. There were some doubts regarding the film's future because of Anik's health condition. But hopefully, he will return to the film after being completely well.
