Not many are aware but Anil Kapoor was supposed to be part of Aditya Dhar’s much-awaited Dhurandhar 2, now officially titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The actor confirmed the news to India Today, and called it his loss. He also revealed the reason why he had to reject the Hindi movie that most are looking forward to watching in theatres and on OTT. Here’s everything the actor had to share…

Anil Kapoor confirmed that he was offered a cameo in Dhurandhar 2, but had to turn down the role because he was already busy with another project. “Yes, Aditya came to me for Dhurandhar 2,” Kapoor shared. He then stated that in order to be professional and to honour his commitment (dates clashing with another filmmaker’s project), the actor had to turn down a big offer like Dhurandhar: The Revenge. “I told Aditya, ‘I would have loved to do this cameo, but I’m already committed.’ He is releasing the film now, and it’s a fantastic film. It’s my loss, but it’s okay,” he said, while still remaining hopeful that he gets to work with Aditya Dhar at some point of time.

Dhurandhar 2 aka Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, is an espionage thriller which had left an impression on many. Although the movie has come under light for its politics, it is liked critically as well as by the audiences for both its storytelling as well as performances. It stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera, and Danish Pandor in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor was recently seen in Suresh Triveni’s Subedaar, which was a direct-to-OTT film on Prime Video. Starring Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Radhika Madan, Aditya Rawal and Faisal Malik, it was out on March 5.
