Animal Box Office Report - Ranbir Kapoor beats Salman Khan with a huge margin but couldn't touch Shah Rukh Khan's 'First Week' record

The buzz that has surrounded Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal has helped it scale new heights that only a handful of movies have managed to get to. Despite being a part of intense debates and discussions, Animal's box office collections are insane and seem on the way to breaking many records. Just one week after its release, there is already chatter about Animal getting into the Rs 600 crore club. The report card is glorious and Ranbir has emerged as a star, beating Salman Khan, but not Shah Rukh Khan’s record. 

If 2023 has taught us anything, it has to be box office math and about records being broken film after film. Shah Rukh Khan, with Pathaan and Jawan, has set unprecedented standards and the race is on now to break his records. But it doesn’t seem like that will happen anytime soon. Animal has set the box office on fire and was expected to break SRK's record, but it turns out that it couldn’t. 

In a week-long run at the box office, Animal collected around Rs 340 crore, which is a massive number. It was already on the list of highest earners in Bollywood in 6 days. The collection has surpassed Salman Khan’s recently released Tiger 3’s week-one collection by a huge margin. The film, which also stars Katrina Kaif, earned Rs 220.25 crore in the first week of its release. This means that there is a difference of Rs 120 crore between Animal and Tiger 3.

However, with its Rs 340 crore, Animal has not even come close to Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which had a phenomenon run in its first week. Jawan raked in Rs. 369.43 crore in the first week. Directed by Atlee, Jawan also stars Deepika Padukone, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, and Vijay Sethupathi.

But all said and done, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal has made quite an impact at the box office and on the internet, with more and more people going to theatres to watch it and others slamming it for its toxic content.
