Animal: Producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani talk about the relevance of entertainment cinema

Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani, the producers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, spoke to Pinkvilla about their significant commitment in entertaining films.

Murad began the interview by discussing how audiences still demand entertaining films on the big screen. According to him, the films that are being produced should be released on the appropriate platforms.

"We are also making good films, but I am not sure if the audience wants to go and watch them in cinema halls. You have to choose the right platform to release those high on content films”, he explained.

Bhushan agreed with Murad and discussesd their new venture, Animal, which he described as “full-fledged commercial cinema” that the audience will enjoy. According to him, the film features all the qualities of an entertaining movie, including "heroism, music, entry, interval block, father emotion, mother emotion, scale, and action."

Bhushan further stated that Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of Animal, understands the sensibilities of the Hindi-speaking audience despite coming from the South industry.

While discussing the entertainment industry, Bhushan says, "Actually, their sensibility is in sync with the kind of films we made in the 1970s and 80s. The South industry is just repackaging those films and making them on a big scale, something that we are not doing here”.

The two producers also praised the director of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Anees Bazmee, referring to him as "family" and expressing their desire to work with him on future projects.

While discussing Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Murad explains how the film was created. Akash Kaushik written a romantic comedy that he pitched to Farhad Samji, who later went to Murad with his proposal to twist the film into Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2."We all were aware that Bhushan Ji is on the lookout to turn Bhool Bhulaiyaa into a franchise. So, I took Farhad bhai to Bhushan Ji and his instant reply was ‘Bana Lo.’ That’s how our journey began,” Murad said.

Murad also concluded the interview by revealing that he has acquired the rights to the film Master and plans to shoot it next year. Without disclosing any information about the actors.

Animal prominently stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna.
