Ranbir Kapoor is all set for the release of his upcoming film ‘Animal,’ starring Rashmika Mandanna and Anil Kapoor. In India, the film will hit the big screen on December 1, but for the international market, the Ranbir starrer will be released a day prior, on November 30, 2023.

As the release of the film is just 2 weeks away, several cinema halls are opening advance bookings for it, and Animal is receiving a lot of love from the audience. For an Indian film, Animal is going to have the most number of theaters in the USA market, with 888 screens. This number is higher than the number of screens given to several other big-budget films, including Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 , Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster releases Jawan and Pathaan, Rajinikanth’s Jailer, and even Ranbir’s Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, which was distributed by Disney.

With just a few days until the release, Animal is receiving quite a good response from the audience. According to the numbers provided by Times Entertainment, the film had opened in 172 locations till Thursday and had sold approximately 1,092 tickets by then, with a collection of $19,217. Now, in just one night, the sales have seen a good jump, with 6 more locations and 14 additional shows being added. This takes the ticket sales to approximately 1,500 and the premiere day sales to $26,433 (Rs 22 lakhs).

The movie revolves around “The story of a son whose love for his father knows no bounds. As their bond begins to fracture, a chain of extraordinary events unfold, causing the son to undergo a remarkable transformation consumed by a thirst for vengeance."

For the unversed, Animal was supposed to be released on August 11, but due to post-production issues, the film was further delayed, and now it will have a clash with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur as both the films will be released on December 1.

Talking about the big clash, Vicky shared, “We have to build an atmosphere with multiple films that can work on the same day. We have the strength in the audience, we have the strength at the exhibitor level, so, why not? I think we kind of also need to push the envelope now. Given today’s scenario now, the excitement that the the audiences have, I think, if they resonate with two films and both films are good, both can work. So, I am as excited for Animal as anybody else as long as it is a great day for the audience. We work for them, not for each other.”
