Sandeep Reddy Vanga is basking in the glory of his film Animal's success. The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, turned out to be a money-spinner at the box office. Despite mixed reviews, the movie did exceptionally well and the box office figures are proof! Amid the theatrical release of Animal, Sandeep is busy editing the film's OTT version. In his latest interview, the filmmaker is editing the OTT version he found some problems in the theatrical cut of the movie.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Animal's OTT version
Speaking with Komal Nahta, Sandeep Reddy Vanga said he found some problems in the theatrical version of Animal. The filmmaker felt a song was a bit off, costumes were off in some scenes, make-up wasn't right somewhere and he also believed the sound went haywire.
"I was editing the version because there were some problems in 1-2 shots. I’m using different and a few more shots from the same take," he said. Vanga said that he should have left the runtime of Animal to 3 hours 30 minutes instead of 3 hours 21 minutes. "I don’t know why I edited those 8-9 minutes. Now, I will be using those 5-6 minutes extra," mentioned Sandeep. The movie's OTT version will premiere on Netflix.

Problems in Animal
As Sandeep mentioned in his interview, I have a similar opinion on a few problems in Animal. The VFX used for making Ranbir look 60 wasn't up to the mark. The makers could've done better in that aspect. For that matter, in the opening shot, where the 60-year-old Ranbir aka Ranvijay is delivering dialogues, the background music was so high that the actor's dialogues were barely audible. These are some loopholes of Animal apart from the problematic second half of Animal, which runs high on toxic masculinity and misogyny.
About the film
Animal marked Sandeep's third film after Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh. The filmmaker teamed up with Ranbir for the film. Apart from Ranbir, the film featured Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Suresh Oberoi, Shakti Kapoor, Siddhant Karnick, and Saloni Batra.
