The actor Bobby Deol recently disclosed that during the last fight scene in the movie Animal, there is a brief scene in which his antagonist, Abrar, kisses the lead character, Ranvijay, played by Ranbir Kapoor. Bobby claimed that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who has since provided additional details about his choice, cut the scene and the kiss itself at the editing table.

"Yes, actually there was a kiss," Sandeep Reddy Vanga stated in a Galatta Plus interview. "Bobby will kiss Ranbir, a kiss on the cheek, and say, ‘Bhai, I didn’t even spend one day with my father’, and he’ll go back and open his zip. It was superb when we were shooting, but I felt like the kiss was diluting the zip." The director revealed that the reason he took it down was that Bobby Sir smirked and had a tear roll down his face. He then felt that it was a bigger cinematic high than coming and kissing.

In an interview with The Quint, Bobby talked about how he had to kiss Ranbir Kapoor's Rannvijay Singh at the end of the movie. However, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga edited the kiss. The kissing sequence "may appear on the uncut Netflix version" of Animal, he said.

More about Animal

Animal also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi, and Prem Chopra in addition to Bobby and Ranbir. Critics and viewers have reacted to the movie in very different ways since its December 1 release; many have criticized it for having aggressive and toxic characters and a convoluted plot.

Vanga faced criticism after the release of his first two films, Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh. However, Animal's popularity has justified his controversial and hyperviolent style of filmmaking.

Animal, a film about a problematic father-son relationship, keeps getting better box office receipts in spite of the criticism. The movie has now made nearly ₹850 crore worldwide and crossed the ₹522 crore nett milestone in India.
