Anirban Chakrabarti on Rudhwaswas Rajasthan: I was amazed to see Sonar Kella

The Eken – Rudhwaswas Rajasthan was released two days back. Anirban Chakrabarti comes back as Eken Babu, with Suhatro Mukhopadhyay as Bapi and Somak Ghosh as Pramatha. Eken Babu, after the release, talked about his likes and dislikes.

In an interview with Fever FM, Anirban said, “Many people jokingly say that I am all-in-all in the films. I am the hero, the comedian, and everything except the villain. Many people also ask me when my wife will be seen on screen. My relatives are seen, why not my wife?”

What is his opinion about Eken Babu? Anirban said, “Everybody loves the character. It is not important what mystery he solves. Everybody eagerly waits to see what the man will do now, what prank he will play with Bapi and Pramatha.”

Eken Babu's author Sujan Dasgupta passed away in his Kolkata apartment just before the Book Fair. He knew about this film. How was his relationship with Anirban? Anirban said, “While we were shooting the first series in 2018, he came to the set. That was our first introduction. I liked chatting with him. He was very intelligent. He was happy to see Eken Babu getting success.”

How was his feeling to act in Satyajit Ray's Sonar Kella or in the Circuit House in Jodhpur where Ray worked? Anirban said, “This is Anirban Chakrabarti's first time in Rajasthan. This is Eken's first time, too. No shot was taken to give tribute. The amazement to see Sonar Kella for the first time happened with me and also with Eken. Shooting in Jaisalmer means riding a camel. So, the scenes were close to each other, but nothing was copied.”

The last question by Fever FM was, whom shall he choose as his wife, Koel Mallick, Rituparna Sengupta, or Vidya Balan? Anirban replied, “Koel or Rituparna in Bengali, and Vidya if the series is made in Hindi.”
