Despite his busy schedule, National Award-winning filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury watched Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham’s action-packed spy thriller Pathaan as soon as he could. By his admission, he does not miss SRK’s films and if it is a film of Shah Rukh or Amitabh Bachchan, he ends up watching them multiple times. The filmmaker was in Kolkata for promoting Lost – a film that features Yami Gautam, Pankaj Kapur, Neil Boopalan, and others.

Talking about Pathaan, Aniruddha said, “I can’t hoot or whistle but I screamed, ‘Jio, SRK’. I don’t miss Shah Rukh Khan films. So is for Mr Bachchan. I watched Shaarabi, and Laawaris multiple times. There was a time when I used to watch noon matinees and evening shows back to back. I used to go mad.”

Meanwhile, the Pink-director also believed that Pathaan proved that the age of stardom is not over yet. “You saw what happened in Pathaan. People went berserk. Along with stardom, if there is a good story, it will work like magic,” the director said.

Aniruddha suggested that the boycott campaign on social media cannot impact the business of a film. “I don’t think it affects the business. If the content is good and if I want to watch something, I will watch it no matter what. The Internet has been accessed by the wrong kind of people. They spread hatred. These are deep individual perversions,” he said.

Lost will be released on Zee5 on February 17. Aniruddha’s next film features Pankaj Tripathi, Jaya Ahsan, and Parvathy Thiruvothu.
