Ankahi Kahaniya: Netflix announces yet another anthology by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Abhishek Chaubey, Saket Chaudhary

Abhishek Banarjee, Zoya Hussain, Kunal Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Palomi, Rinku Rajguru and Delzad Hiwale play the lead roles in the anthology series.

Yet another anthology is making its way on Netflix. Titled Ankahi Kahaniya, the series features three stories brought by leading filmmakers Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Abhishek Chaubey and Saket Chaudhary. The anthology series stars Abhishek Banarjee, Zoya Hussain, Kunal Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Palomi, Rinku Rajguru and Delzad Hiwale in the lead roles.

Ashwiny's film features Abhishek Banerjee as the protagonist and talking about her shorts, the filmmaker said in a statement, "With every story, I want to challenge myself as a storyteller and create varied emotional connections between the viewers and the characters that will last in their minds for a while."

Iyer-Tiwari hopes that she can captivate the imagination of movie lovers with questions of untold and unanswered emotions every human goes through with this film.

While Abhishek said, "This is a story of the city in the 1980s and young love in the world of single-screen theatres. When you’re young and caged in Mumbai, looking for love’s a sweet escape."

Chaubey's movie features Rinku Mahadeo Rajguru and Dellzad Hiwale and it's based on a Kannada story named Madhyantara by Jayant Kaikini.

Whereas Saket added that love stories have always been one of his favourite genres. Kunal Kapoor, Zoya Hussain, Nikhil Dwivedi and Palomi are the leading actors in his film. 

Ankahi Kahaniya is set to stream on Netflix from September 17, 2021.

With this film, Ashwiny is making her OTT debut and apart from the anthology, the filmmaker has also helmed a web series titled Faadu for SonyLIV. She also co-directed Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi's docuseries Break Point with Nitesh Tiwari which will soon stream on ZEE5.
