Ankur Rathee on City of Dreams 2 co-actor Shriyam Bhagnani: There's a gentle earnestness in her eyes

City of Dreams season two is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar and it features Atul Kulkarni and Priya Bapat reprising their roles from the first season. Along with them, Ankur Rathee and Shriyam Bhagnani who are paired opposite each other play supporting roles in the political drama. In an interaction, both the actors were all praises for each other as well as the director of the series Nagesh Kukonoor.

About Shriyam, Ankur said in a press statement, "Honesty and humility are so crucial for any actor, and Shriyam was beaming with both in our scenes together. There is a gentle earnestness in her eyes, one that occasionally even diminished my need for a vivid imagination to get into character."

He further said that a simple look into Shriyam's innocent gaze transported him into the scene and evoked the required vulnerability. Ankur called it a rarity and a blessing to find in a co-actor.

Whereas, about Rathee, Bhagnani said, "Ankur is MAD! I don’t think there is ever a dull moment when you’re around this man. He has a switch that goes off once the director says cut and suddenly, he is a child on set."

Shriyam also shared that Ankur brought life on set by singing, dancing and making conversations with people. She also revealed that he sometimes even worked secretly in his van for his other projects. 

Bhagnani called the Thappad actor very supportive and shared that he would stay behind for the reaction scenes even when he isn't supposed to. The actor called him an amazing co-actor and added that even after doing so many projects, he comes on set as fresh as ever with so much curiosity.

City of Dreams season two also features Eijaz Khan, Sachin Pilgaonkar and Sushant Singh in pivotal roles.
