Actor Anna Ben is currently revelling in the success of Kottukkaali, also known as The Adamant Girl. The small-budget drama, set against the backdrop of a small village, is making waves in international film festivals . While basking in the accolades for her modest film, Anna is equally enthusiastic about her experience on the sets of Kalki 2898 AD.

From village drama to sci-fi epic
"I am currently working on a Telugu film. I have a small part in 'Kalki 2898 AD.' While on the sets of Kottukkaali, we had 50 people on a daily basis. In Kalki, there are 50 people just in the light department. Both experiences are at extreme ends, and both are beautiful," shared Anna Ben during an interview with Galatta Plus while promoting her film Kottukkaali.
Anna hinted that audiences will witness a new dimension of her acting in Kalki 2898 AD, which features some of the biggest stars in the Indian film industry. "It's a massive film with stunts. It's crazy. As an actor, I am thrilled about the contrast in my life right now," she added.
In Kalki 2898 AD, Anna appears to have transcended her girl-next-door persona and embraced a dynamic new element.
Kalki 2898 AD, India's most-awaited 2024 movie
Written and directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is currently in production. The film is described as India's first mytho-sci-fi epic, and producers are sparing no expense in bringing it to the screen on an unprecedented scale.
Featuring an ensemble cast led by Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone, Kalki 2898 AD spans nearly 6000 years of India's history, starting from the Mahabharat. The film is slated to hit cinemas on May 9 this year.
Meanwhile, Kottukkaali made history as the first Tamil film to have its world premiere at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival. Written and directed by PS Vinothraj, the film has received an encouraging response from festival audiences. Alongside Anna Ben, Soori plays the male lead in the film.
