Reality tv star Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell dies at 29 after fighting a stage 4 rare adrenal gland carcinoma since January this year. The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star was a known face in the American pageant circuit, along with her sister Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson in their childhood. Anna’s mother, renowned star June Shannon of Mama June, took to Instagram to share the tragic news.

June Shannon penned, “With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11.12 PM. She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months.”

“She passed away with her family around her like she wanted, and we will be updating y’all with more information as we get it today. We love y’all and the continued prayers and thoughts for our family during this difficult time.” Attached to the post was a group photo of the family from their TLC show’s set.”

Condolences and fond memories poured in from fans and well-wishers, who mostly took to commenting on the Mama June star’s post. One fan wrote, “Most of us watched Anna grow watching Here comes honey boo boo.. I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a child is the worst thing anyone could ever go through. June, we all love you and your crew. Rest in Peace Anna.”

Another fan kindly wrote, “Rest in peace dear Chickadee. May God hold you in His glory. I am praying for the family. You are all in my heart.” While a third’s comment resonated among all cancer fighters, “My heart is with your family. I’m in a cancer battle myself. I can’t imagine the pain your family feels. I have had the chance to interview you when I worked at CBS Atlanta. You are a wonderful family.”

Anna Cardwell is survived by her two daughters, Kaitlyn, 10, and Kylee, 7, as well as her mother and sisters, Alana, 18, Lauryn, 23, and Jessica, 27.
