While Karan Johar's Dostana 2 might have just been revived years later and Takht still remains on the backburner, we now hear that his web series Jet Set Go also faces a similar fate

Amid Bhagam Bhag actor Paresh Rawal backing out of Hera Pheri 3 (a continuation from Phir Hera Pheri) and Logout actor Babil Khan quitting Baby remake, comes another disappointment, this time associated with Karan Johar. The filmmaker's saga with the backburner projects continues, for his web series venture Jet Set Go might be the latest to be on the backburner. The reason for this, like Dostana 2, is touted as the lack of casting. Here's everything we hear so far...
There is no finalized cast for Karan Johar's web series venture, Jet Set Go. This is a deja vu of Dostana 2, which was also put on the backburner once Kartik Aaryan was out of the project. With Jet Set Go, Karan hoped to bring an A-list actress on-board but according to PeepingMoon, he has not been able to justify the high production cost. Thus, apart from casting issues, the Netflix series might be on hold owing to financial constraints.
Interestingly, the vicious cycle is repeated and some of the most noted instances in the recent past is that of Paresh Rawal backing out of Hera Pheri 3, and Babil Khan quitting Baby's Hindi remake. While Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar might have a replacement for Hera Pheri 3, Baby remake, which was supposed to be the launchpad for Govinda's son Yashvardhan, is also on the backburner after Babil Khan quitting the film.
Like the case with many other web series like Kaala Paani 2 and Guilty Minds 2, Jet Set Go was also in the pre-production stage when the web series had to be suddenly put on the backburner. It is being said that the project is not yet shelved, a la Takht, but it surely is another disappointment for Karan whose ambitious projects are not seeing the light of the day already! Nonetheless, he has Call Me Bae season 2 to look forward 2, apart from his movies including Student of the Year 3.
