The Ghar Kab Aaoge music video from Border 2 has sparked online criticism as Varun Dhawan was mocked for his ‘unserious’ appearance in the song. A post by X stated that a paid campaign was being run targeting the actor. In response, Border 2 producer Nidhi Dutta condemned the alleged conspiracy and called those responsible "anti-nationals."
An X user named CineHub shared, “The LATEST TARGET of this paid smear campaign is #VarunDhawan. Certain Instagram influencers are clearly doing this on instructions, running a full-fledged agenda to malign Varun in #Border2. From body-shaming to selectively targeting his expressions, everything feels forced — especially when his performance is actually perfectly suited for the film. This dirty game needs to STOP because no matter what, #Border2 is going to take a bumper opening everywhere.”
Quoting the tweet, Nidhi Dutta wrote, “Congratulations to all the ANTI-NATIONALS who can pay to bring down an actor playing a PVC of this country. This is YOUR film, India! Hope audiences identify and shame these people.”
On Reddit, a user posted a chat screenshot saying that the song "Ghar Kab Aaoge" from Border 2 showed messages directed at influencers targeting Varun Dhawan's acting and expression.
During the interactive session, a fan asked Varun to share what intrigued him to the script of Border 2. To this, Dhawan said, "A war can never be one by an individual it takes all forces to come together. In #border2 we have the army, navy and airforce together oh ya and also the one man army sunny Deol."
Border 2 is an upcoming Hindi war film, a spiritual sequel to the 1997 classic, set during India's 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, focusing on untold stories of valour across the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Directed by Anurag Singh, the story promises epic battle scenes and emotional depth, depicting the sacrifices of young soldiers in land, naval, and air battles.
