Director Tinu Pappachan's Ajagajantharam is gearing up for another battle. This time at the 40th Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, where the Antony Varghese-starrer will be competing in its category for action films.

Ajagajantharam, which released in theatres last year, revolves around a clash between two mahouts and the locals against the backdrop of a temple festival. Apart from Antony, the movie also has Arjun Ashokan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Kichu Tellus, Sabumon Abdusamad, Vineeth Vishwam and Sudhi Koppa.

The film's director Tinu took to his social media page to announce the latest acclaim that came its way. "The movie will be competing for the White Raven, a category dedicated to extraordinary action films around the world," wrote the filmmaker, adding that he was honoured and humbled by the recognition.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Tinu had said that he was happy he could wrap up the film before the pandemic as featured scenes that required crowd sequences that would have been impossible to film during the pandemic due to the lockdown restrictions. Scripted by Kichu and Vineeth, the movie is currently available to stream on Sony LIV.

Meanwhile, Tinu and Antony are current collaborating in their third project, after Swanthandhryam Ardharathriyil and Ajagajantharam. The yet-to-be-titled movie, which also has Kunchacko Boban and Arjun Ashokan, is scripted by Joy Mathew and is currently being shot in Kannur. Munnar and a few places in Tamil Nadu are the other locations of the film, which will be shot in a single schedule of 70 days.

The film's producer Arun Narayan had earlier told us that film has an action mood but isn't a full blown-out action movie like Tinu's previous two films. The big budget movie, which also has Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam fame Manoj KU, also has most of the technical crew of Ajagajantharam including cinematographer Jinto George.
