Anuj Choudhary, popularly known as the face of the Sabyasachi Wedding Campaign, actor in films like Mirzya and Angry Indian Goddesses, is all set for his digital debut with Alt Balaji’s youth-drama Puncch Beat season 2. The first season of the series, that released to positive reviews, featured Mirzapur fame Harshita Gaur, ex Bigg Boss contestant Priyank Sharma, Siddharth Sharma and Khushi Joshi in pivotal roles.
The new season will glorify the rivalry between two school students and also revolve around a murder investigation, where Anuj will be seen playing a police officer. Talking about his character, Anuj said in a statement, “He has come to Rosewood High to investigate a case that will change the entire story in the season. He always thinks there’s more than what meets the eye. And his camaraderie with his subordinate Rathore is something people should wait and watch.”
“To play such a character is a joy in itself. He has so many layers that it was quite exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. He isn’t a quintessential cop. So, there’s more to him. Even before I got the show, I was in conversation with the SHO in Dehradun, doing my homework for the character. And thankfully it helped. To play Vishnu, who is essentially driving the narrative in the second season, was quite fun,” the Mirzya actor added.
Puncch Beat season 2 also recasts the lead actors from the first instalment. The show is slated to release on ALT Balaji on June 27.
