‘Anuj’ Gaurav Khanna: Anupamaa is like the steroid injection

Gaurav Khanna, who plays the role of Anuj in the uber-popular show Anupamaa, calls it like a steroid injection. Anupamaa is led by Rupali Ganguly but Gaurav’s Anuj is equally loved. He spoke about the same in a recent interview when asked about the love received from the fans.

Gaurav spoke to News18, where he mentioned about gaining weight and wearing glasses to become Anuj. “I think it’s like the steroid injection,” he said.

The actor shared that people have always loved every role he played but Anupamaa was a different experience altogether. “A character like Anuj Kapadia and suddenly you are there (points towards the sky),” he shared.

Gaurav has received compliments where he is called a fantastic and natural actor. He feels humbled on hearing that and feels it is his time right now.

“When I talk to my friends or my parents, I always say nobody gets anything out of luck and ahead of time,” the actor said. He remembered his role before getting Anuj. The actor played a fantasy character on the show Chandrakanta. The character had long hair, armour and was a barbaric warrior.

Anuj had made an entry to Anupamaa recently. He plays the role of Anupama’s husband.

Sudhanshu Pandey played Rupali Ganguly’s husband on Anupamaa before Gaurav’s Anuj entered the show. Anupamaa also stars Madalsa Sharma in a pivotal role.
