Anukoni Prayanam received mixed reviews upon release, where critics appreciated the theme of the film, though the treatment was found wanting. After a brief theatrical run, the drama is now out on OTT. Streaming giant Amazon Prime Video bagged its post-theatrical digital rights and premiered the film on the streamer for Sankranthi in 2022. Will the film get its due on OTT? Given its moving theme and an experienced star cast, it certainly can’t be ruled out.

The film revolves around two masons, played by Rajendra Prasad and Narasimha Raju, working in Bhubaneshwar. The two are inseparable friends who find solace in each other’s company despite their challenges in life. Days before the COVID-19 lockdown, they’re asked to leave the site and return to their hometowns. However, their journey begins on a false note when one of the friends dies of a heart attack. How far can a man go to fulfil his friend’s wish in a curfew situation?

Prema, GV Narayana Rao, Tulasi, Ravi Babu, Subhaleka Sudhakar, Ananth, Prabhas Srinu, Rangasthalam Mahesh, Jogi Brothers, Dhanraj, Kancharapalem Kishore, Gemini Suresh, Thagubothu Ramesh too essayed important roles in the film. With cinematography by Mallikarjun Naragani, the film had music by S Siva Dinavahi while the dialogues were written by Paruchuri Brothers. Ram Tumu and Suresh Bhimagani were the editor and the art director respectively.
