Rajendra Prasad is stepping back into the zone of Aa Naluguru and Mee Sreyobhilashi again for Anukoni Prayanam, an emotional drama helmed by first-time filmmaker Venkatesh Pediredla. The film is bankrolled by Dr Jagan Mohan DY under Apple Creations and also stars Narasimha Raju, Prema, Subhalekha Sudhakar ink key roles. S Thaman had launched the film’s first single today.

Ye Kadhanu Ye Kanchiki, the first single from the film, is sung by Shankar Mahadevan and lyricised by Madhu Kiran. S Siva Dinavahi is the music director of Anukoni Prayanam. The song is a plea to celebrate the little joys of life with your loved ones. The lyrics elaborate on the unpredictability of life and why it’s important to rise above false egos and pride to lead a meaningful existence.

Like the title suggests, Rajendra Prasad is in the middle of a journey in the song and is looking back at his friendship with Narasimha Raju. It’s very evident that the worldly wisdom in the song is masked by an element of grief, where the character is mourning the loss of a friend. It’s rare for songs in Telugu cinema to reflect the larger meaning of life backed by a philosophy; the number is indeed refreshing.

S Thaman, expressed his happiness about launching Ye Kadhanu Ye Kanchiki. “The composer Siva has worked under composer Koti for over nine years. I wish him success as a musician. Shankar Mahadevan has done a brilliant job with the number and Madhu Kiran’s lyrics also deserve praise. I am sure the film will explore a new dimension to Rajendra Prasad garu,” he said.

Tulasi, Ravi Babu, Prabhas Sreenu, Rangasthalam Mahesh, Jogi Brothers, Dhanraj, Kancharapalem Kishore, Gemini Suresh, Thagubothu Ramesh and others form the supporting cast. Cinematographed by Mallikarjun Naragani, the film is edited by Ram Thumu. Paruchuri Brothers have written the dialogues of the drama presented by noted producer Bekkem Venugopal.
