Anupam Kher finishes dubbing for Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2, coins an apt hashtag for the promotional campaign

Nikhil, after a three year gap, is returning to Telugu cinema with a massive theatrical release, Karthikeya 2, on August 12. The film, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, is a sequel to the 2014 hit Karthikeya. Jointly produced by People Media Factory and Abhishek Agarwal Arts, the thriller, to hit screens across five languages, also stars Anupam Kher in a crucial role.

In a video shared by the makers today, Anupam Kher has confirmed that he has finished dubbing for the film. While interacting with Nikhil and producer Abhishek Agarwal, he tells the former, “I’ve just completed dubbing. It looks fantastic, a job well done.” He cheekily tells the producer too, “Money well spent!” That’s not all, he has come up with a hash tag for the film too.

In the video, Nikhil tells Kher that the team hadn’t thought of a hashtag for Karthikeya 2 yet. “Hashtag is very important for the film. I’ll charge the producer extra for that (laughs). I made a graphic of it too. #KrishnaIsTruth is something I totally believe in,” Anupam Kher adds. The actor, producer concur with the veteran that #KrishnaIsTruth is indeed the motto of the film.

Redheart Movies is distributing the film in the US. The makers also shared an update that an announcement about the theatrical trailer will be made tomorrow at 11.07 am. Anupama Parameswaran, who plays the female lead, has excused herself from the film promotions owing to her breakneck shoot schedules. She is simultaneously shooting for two films and the release date postponement of Karthikeya 2 didn’t quite work in her favour.

The ZEE group has acquired Karthikeya 2 completely, bagging its satellite and streaming rights too. The team recently was at ISKCON, Vrindavan to unveil the Hindi teaser amidst several religious gurus and devotees. Viva Harsha, Srinivasa Reddy, Adithya Menon also play important roles in the film. The makers maintain that the film is a continuation of the prequel story.
