Anupam Kher to play Rabindranath Tagore. All the details inside...

Looks like age is just a number for Bollywood actor Anupam Kher as he continues to bag projects one after the other. Even at the age of 68, he continues to feature in high-profile theatrical releases and that too, in titular roles.

Today, the multi-talented actor announced that he will soon be headlining a project based on the life of the legendary poet, the late Rabindranath Tagore. In 1913, Tagore was the first non-European and the first lyricist to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Not only this but Tagore is credited for composing India’s national anthem Jana Gana Mana. 

On Instagram today, Anupam Kher dropped the first look of his upcoming project and said, “Delighted to portray #Gurudev #RabindranathTagore in my 538th project. Will reveal the details in due course. It is my good fortune that I have got the privilege of embodying Gurudev on screen! Will share more details of this film with you soon!”

Anupam Kher’s post has been liked by over 7,000 Instagram users in the first three hours of its release. Reacting to the Instagram post, one social media user commented: “Looking forward to it” Another social media user said, “Oh! My God, I couldn't recognize you Sir... Superb”

“For a moment I was shaken… such an accurate portrayal... kudos to the makeup artists. Eagerly waiting to you sir as Kobiguru Rabindranath Thakur...,” wrote one more user.

This announcement by Anupam Kher comes just a month before the theatrical release of his film titled, The Vaccine War.

In January this year, filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri confirmed that his upcoming film, The Vaccine War, will feature actor Anupam Kher in the titular role. It will be Anupam’s 534th film of his acting career. The film will be headlined by Nana Patekar.
