Amid preparations for its third season, Shark Tank India has become embroiled in controversies. Recent allegations have surfaced regarding the winning entrepreneur contestants not receiving funds from the Sharks. In response to these claims, Anupam Mittal, one of the Sharks on the show, has come forward to defend the claims.

According to reports, there are allegations that 12 start-ups, which secured investments on Shark Tank, have not yet received the funds promised by the Sharks. Moneycontrol's report highlighted the case of an entrepreneur named Rahul, who struck a deal with Mittal during Season 2. Rahul has claimed that there were significant disagreements regarding the terms of the deal that Mittal had previously agreed to.

Additionally, Mittal allegedly stated that Rahul's business was not considered viable. Similar complaints have been made by other winners, who assert that the Sharks have re-evaluated their deals subsequent to the show's airing.

Mittal appealed to the unidentified founders to step forward and engage in discussions regarding the allegations. He shared a long post on LinkedIn, clearing the air on the claims.

“First it was ‘Sharks do not invest their own money’, then ‘Oh, the show is scripted’ & then ‘Sharks only fund profitable cos,” he shared through the post. “More specifically in US Shark Tank, ~60% of the deals go through. Shark Tank India S1 saw the completion of 2/3rds of the deals, which, afaik, is a record of sorts. S2 CR will be available in August and based on deal momentum, I am confident it too will be healthy,” the entrepreneur added to the ‘Bark Tank’ post (with photos of dogs).
