Anupamaa, a popular long-running television series, has got a prequel on Disney+ Hotstar. Anupama – Namaste America is produced by Rajan Shahi and Ishika Shahi under their production name, iShahi Entertainment. It is a new series on Hotstar Specials that celebrates the energy and tenacity of women.
With Anupama (Rupali Ganguly) and Vanraaj (Sudhanshu Pandey) married for approximately nine years, the series is finally here to take viewers on a fascinating journey. They share a home with Moti Baa (Sarita Joshi), Baa (Alpana Buch), Bapuji (Arvind Vaidya), and their two children, Samar and Toshu, in the Shah household.
The story starts with Vanraaj being invited to a party at his superior's house with his wife, Anupama. Vanraaj agrees to attend the party and accepts the invitation. However, he refuses to bring Anupama because he believes she does not meet his standards, and that it would be a disgrace to bring her to such an important occasion and that it would harm his reputation at work. To Moti Baa's annoyance, he tells him to do something he doesn't want to do. Will Vanraaj comply with Moti Baa's request? What is his next course of action?
In the 11-part prequel web series, Anupama was given a once-in-a-lifetime chance to pursue her dreams seventeen years ago. She gets an opportunity to travel to the US and fulfill her dream of being a dancer. However, Anupama is now forced to choose between her job and her family.
In the series, the veteran actor Sarita Joshi makes an appearance as Moti Baa and showcases how she was the driving force in Anupama's life back then. Several promos featuring her showed how she brought out the positivity in Ganguly's character while her husband, Vanraaj, looked down upon her.
The regular series Anupama is also currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
