Anupama Parameswara is testing new waters in Telugu cinema with her next release, Butterfly. This will be the first instance where she’ll be seen in a female-oriented film fully revolving around her role. The promos of debutant Ghanta Satish Babu’s directorial had released a few weeks ago to impressive responses. Now, it’s official that Butterfly is headed for an OTT release.
The actress confirmed the news at a promotional event held by the production house earlier this week. “I’ll not say much about Butterfly because it’s set to land on Disney+ Hotstar and audiences would be watching it from the comfort of their homes. I am very happy with the production team that worked on the film. We worked hard to help the project see the light of the day,” she shared.
Butterfly is bankrolled by Ravi Prakash Bodapati, Prasad Tiruvalluri and Pradeep Nallimelli under Gen’Next Movies, the banner that produced the surprise hit Mantra in the past. Nihal Kodhaty and Bhumika Chawla too play pivotal roles in the psychological thriller cinematographed by Sameer Reddy and edited by by Madhu. Arviz and Gideon Katta have composed the music for the film.
While Anupama’s singing talents are well known, she has lent her voice for the first time in a Telugu film for Butterfly. Anantha Sriram is the sole lyricist of the album. The thriller deals with a deadlock situation faced by a young girl who needs to confront her inner and external demons. The teaser hinted at a gripping saga loaded with many twists and turns.
The production house recently organised a promotional event announcing their upcoming lineup of projects. Anupama is also part of a film titled Mareechika, also co-starring Regina Cassandra, helmed by national award-winning filmmaker Satish Kasetty and written, co-produced by Lakshmi Bhupala. Viraj Ashwin plays the male lead in the film.
