Anupriya Goyenka on Asur 2: AI and mythology have made the story more engaging

Anupriya Goenka, who plays an important role in the web series Asur 2, shares with OTTplay why she was surprised with the script of the new season.

In the show, she plays Naina Nair, the wife of Nikhil Nair, a forensic expert who, along with CBI officer Dhananjay Rajpoot, is on a mission to catch the serial killer Subh.

Talking about the way the story has evolved from the first season to the new one, Anupriya told OTTplay, "A special feature of the new season is the use of technology and AI. The twists and turns have been designed interestingly because of AI. What I did not expect were the many other tracks that were intertwined in the story, which made it an interesting and layered, wholesome narrative. Those elements were surprising to me when I was reading the script for the second season. Every character has some connection with each other. There is also a lot of back and forth between the characters to establish a connection. I am not giving away any spoilers; all I can say is that the audience will understand what I mean once they watch the show."

"Since such a complex story is being appreciated by the audience, I think the makers, especially the writers, are becoming more confident to write such scripts," added the actress, who is known for her roles in web series like Sacred Games, The Final Call, Abhay, Criminal Justice, and Aashram.

Asur 2 is directed by Oni Sen and also stars Barun Sobti, Arshad Warsi, Gaurav Arora, Amey Wagh, Ridhi Dogra, Vishesh Bansal, and Barkha Bisht Sengupta. It is available to stream on JioCinema.
