It seems that Anurag Kashyap might soon take the silver screen by storm in front of the camera yet again. It was reported that the actor filmmaker is in talks to play the role of Vijay Mallya in Karthik K’s upcoming directorial, File No 323.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, the makers of the film were in talks with Kashyap for the role, and the talks were in advanced stages at the moment. Director Karthik was planning on helming the film on a ‘grand scale’, and wanted to present the businessman’s character with the utmost level of flamboyance.
The report stated that with the big scale and faithful representation of the charters and parties that formed a big part of Mallya’s life. The makers also wanted to delve deep into the more controversial aspects of his life and the extravagance of his lifestyle as well.
The makers were currently on the lookout for the characters who will play the roles of the important people in Mallya’s life. Kashyap would be required to don prosthetics to better emulate the character.
The film will reportedly revolve around the stories of some of the most well known fugitive economic offenders in the country, including Mallya, Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi. The makers are planning to get the film on floors by November 20 this year, in Mumbai. The film will be shot in locations across Europe, including the United Kingdom.
The upcoming film will be produced by Kalol Das, Mihir Mutta, Prateebha Vyas, and Vakil Khan, and will mark Karthik’s directorial debut. The filmmaker has previously worked as associate director on films such as Shivaji, Aparichit, and 2.0.
File No 323 is expected to be released in theatres by next year. The makers are yet to announce the film’s official release date.
