Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap seems be putting all his weight behind South films now. The ace actor-director has now announced that he will be presenting the Hindi version of Manju Warrier’s Malayalam found-footage thriller Footage soon and is gearing up for the release of its trailer, which will be out on February 25.

Announcing the trailer release of its Hindi version, the director took to Instagram to share, “When I saw it in a cinema, I marvelled at the way the film was put together from two perspectives.” He lauded the director as well as the cast’s performances for elevating “it to such a thrilling level”.
The filmmaker has been a staunch supporter of Malayalam movie, having also starred in Aashiq Abu’s Rifle Club in 2024 as its antagonist, an arms dealer based out of Mangalore. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix.
In a recent interview, Anurag said that he is cut off from Bollywood because the people from the industry look at him “like I am the enemy of the State”. “I am participating more in South than in Hindi. I have found my tribe here. The people are real,” he said.
While the makers are yet to announce a release date for the Hindi version of Footage, the film will be hoping to appeal to the fans who were recently stoked about the Malayalam movie Marco. Set during the pandemic lockdown, the movie follows two vloggers are they chase a mysterious woman from their apartment complex to the forest.
The film shows two perspectives – one through the camera of Vishak Nair’s character, while another through Gayathri’s. Saiju and Shabna Mohammed have scripted the intriguing thriller.
