Anurag Kashyap’s film Dobaaraa with Taapsee Pannu gets a release date

Ever since the Anurag Kashyap’s film Dobaaraa was announced, the fans have been eagerly waiting for an update as Taapsee Pannu will be not just reuniting with the filmmaker but also with her Thappad co-star Pavail Gulati. The teaser that was released last year had also left the fans biting their nails. And now, to add to the delight of the fans, the makers have announced the release date of the movie.

Dobaaraa, which is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2022, will have a theatrical release on August 19, 2022. Backed by Ektaa Kapoor, the film promises to offer an amazing experience with a cutthroat cliffhanger, extremely edgy at its core, and a vibe that can leave you breathless.

It is interesting to note that the new age thriller will be releasing on the same day as Taapsee's earlier film with Pavail, Thappad. Dobaaraa will also mark her third collaboration with the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, which is being jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Cult Movies and Sunir Khetarpal’s ATHENA.

The film will have its premiere at the London Indian Film Festival before its theatrical release. The organisers of the festival had shared the news on their social media. Sharing an image of the director-actor duo, they wrote in the caption that the film is a 'testament of its new-age, cutting edge narrative being wholly loved and applauded all over the world.' They added that they have earlier screened Kashyap's movies including That Girl In Yellow Boots and Gangs of Wasseypur. A part of their caption reads, "This year Anurag delivers yet another fresh directorial approach and a compelling twisted story. Actress Taapsee Pannu steals the show as a young woman trapped between two lives in different decades."
