What's common between Bollywood star Anushka Sharma and former Indian captain MS Dhoni's wife, Sakshi Dhoni? No, not just that they are both married to ace cricketers (Anushka is married to Virat Kohli).
One may have seen Anushka and Sakshi being friendly with each other when they are in the stands, supporting their husbands during cricket matches, but did you know that their friendship actually goes back decades?
Some old pictures of Anushka and Sakshi have surfaced online, revealing that the two not only studied at the same school in Assam but were also classmates.
Anushka studied at St. Mary’s School in Assam when her father, Retd. Col. Ajay Kumar Sharma, was there. Sakshi also studied at the same school.
In the pictures, it can be seen that Sakshi and Anushka were in the same friend group even when they were older and in their teens and often hung out together.
In an old interview, Anushka had actually spoken about her and Sakshi being classmates.
She had said, "Sakshi and I lived together in a very small town in Assam. When she told me where she lived, I said, 'Wow, I have lived here too!' She said I went to this school, and I said I went to this school too. And then I found a picture in which Sakshi is dressed as a fairy and I’m dressed in a ghagra like my favourite idol, Madhuri (Dixit). Sakshi is extremely funny."
Anushka will next be seen in cricketer Jhulan Goswami's biopic, Chakda Xpress. She was last seen in a cameo appearance in Qala.
Chakda Xpress marks Anushka's full-fledged acting return after a gap of four years. Her last release was Zero, with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
The actor had recently said that she was going to do only one film a year since her daughter, Vamika, is at an age where she needs her around more.
