Anushka Sharma has stepped down as a producer for her production banner Clean Slate Filmz. The actress made the announcement today on her official social media handles.

In her post, the actress talked about her journey. She started her own banner with the aim of producing content that broke the status quo when it came to commercial projects. The actress said that she was ‘deeply proud’ of how far the banner had come and credited her brother for getting the company to where it is today. Anushka talked about how having a child forced her to balance her personal and professional lives in new ways and that she had wanted to focus on dedicating more time to acting. Due to this, she had decided to step down from her duties as a producer in Clean Slate Filmz. Going forward, the banner would be headed solely by her brother, Karnesh Ssharma.

Anushka and her brother had founded Clean Slate Filmz in 2013. The company had recently announced that it would launch a streaming platform dedicated to women-centric content, titled Clean OTT, some time next year. The banner had also signed a deal worth Rs 400 crore with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video recently. Under the deal, the production house would release eight films and shows on the platforms.

NH10 (2015), Phillauri (2017) and Pari (2018), which starred Anushka in the lead, had been produced by the banner. It had also bankrolled projects such as Bulbbul (2020) and the Amazon series Paatal Lok. The upcoming Netflix film Qala, which stars Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan, is also bankrolled by Clean Slate Filmz.
