Anushka Shetty, who made her debut with Nagarjuna Akkineni's Super, completed 17 years in the film industry. The Baahubali actor celebrated this milestone, on the sets of her next, featuring Naveen Polishetty. On this special occasion, she penned a heartfelt note to thank everyone, who has been part of her journey.

Anushka Shetty, who was last seen in Nishabdham (2020), is back in action with a new-age thriller, and according to reports, the film showcases her as a 40-year-old woman, who falls in love with a man half her age.

This untitled film, helmed by P Mahesh Babu of Ra Ra Krishnayya-fame, marks Anushka's third collaboration with UV Creations after Mirchi (2013) and Bhaagamathie (2018).

Hearsay is that Anushka has gone for a makeover and will be sporting an altogether new look in this "unique thriller".

The makers are planning to release the film early next year in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.

In an interview with a leading English daily, Anushka spoke about her sabbatical from work. "Whenever someone asks me why I've taken a hiatus, I take it as a real concern. In fact, I was never disturbed by such questions!" However, social media isn't all rainbows and strawberries! "You can't get rid of negativity by ruminating on it or talking about it. Positivity has always been the answer. Count your blessings, avoid toxicity, and serve others in whatever way you can."

Anushka, affectionately called Sweetie by family and friends, describes her 15-year career in film as "a girl without a plan." She says her film choices were not planned. "I am a person who believes in intuition rather than numbers. That's probably why my filmography is so varied. It is critical to me that I feel at ease with the crew and that I gain personal knowledge while working on projects."

She considers movies to be a magical experience rather than a business. "I am a film enthusiast who has been allowed to appreciate the wonder of movies on screen. I've never attempted to comprehend the business side of things. For instance, the audience welcomed Arundhati's achievement as their own, even though I was a novice. That kind of happiness cannot be bought with money."

Anushka, who's a tremendous lover of big screens, says, "Even the most advanced home theatre system can never match the delight of viewing movies with others. I am certain that everyone must work together to strike a balance between theatres and OTT platforms!"
