If Puri Jagannadh's Super paved Anushka Shetty the way for a long, formidable career in films, it was Arundhati that proved to be a gamechanger in her career. After quite a long time, an actress could bring crowds to a theatre for the content alone despite not having a bankable male lead and surprised all industry experts. Arundhati, directed by the late Kodi Ramakrishna, changed everything for Anushka and the actress didn't have to look back again later. The film that hit theatres on January 16, 2009, completed 13 years of its release the previous weekend.

Expressing her happiness over the same, the actress wrote in her social media handles, "13Years for Arundhati馃Э馃槏 #Jejamma - A character once in a lifetime for any actress and I am truly blessed 馃槆Thanks to Kodi Rama Krishna garu,Shyam Prasad Reddy garu and whole team馃檹Very big thank u to all lovely audience for their support & this movie always close to my heart鉂わ笍." The film, set in a haunted mansion in Gadwal, revolved around a womaniser who's committed to taking vengeance against a woman, across multiple births.

Arundhati's star cast also comprised Sonu Sood, Arjan Bajwa, Manorama, Kaikala Sathyanarayana, Subhashini and others to name a few. The dialogue 'Vadala Bommali Vadala' and the song 'Jejamma' turned out to be quite popular among the masses. The film was produced by Shyam Prasad Reddy and turned out to be an unlikely box-office winner during Sankranthi, trumping everyone's expectations, 13 years ago. Koti had composed music for the same.

Anushka Shetty, last seen in the multilingual Nishabdham that directly released on Amazon Prime Video, will be shooting for a film with Naveen Polishetty to be helmed by P Mahesh Babu (who had directed Sundeep Kishan's Raa Raa Krishnayya in the past). She'll join the sets of the film shortly.
