Anveshippin Kandethum: Tovino Thomas to join Darwin Kuriakose’s police drama from March

Malayalam star Tovino Thomas will finally be kickstarting the shoot of debutant Darwin Kuriakose’s Anveshippin Kandethum, which was first announced almost two years ago. The movie will have the Minnal Murali star essay the role of a police officer, for the second time in his career after Kalki.

The shoot of the film will commence in March in Mundakayam. Tovino essays the role of a cop named Anand Narayanan in the movie, which also has Alencier Ley Lopez, Nandu, Hareesh Kanaran and Aadya Prasad of Nizhal fame.

The film, which is scripted by Kaduva writer Jinu V Abraham, is touted to be an investigative drama, which deals more with the police officers than the cases themselves. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Jinu said, “The film mainly focuses on the mental conflicts of the investigators. We show their mental journey from one case to another, and how the emotional baggage of their previous investigation influences their current case. If they have earned praise or rebuke due to their probe; all of this has a say in their next case.”

The movie will shine light on the emotional toll the cases take on the investigators along with how it impacts their consequent investigations, said the scriptwriter, adding that the team will also experiment with its screenplay. The film will have Vikram and Jalikattu cinematographer Girish Gangadharan as its cinematographer, along with composer Santosh Narayanan and editor Saiju Sreedharan.

Tovino, meanwhile, is currently busy shooting for Ajayante Randam Moshanam. The big budget adventure thriller has the actor essaying a triple role for the first time in his career. The team has already shot for over a month and is expected to continue filming Tovino’s portions till the end of February.

Ajayante Randam Moshanam, which is helmed by Jithin Lal, also has Kriti Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh, Basil Joseph, Harish Uthaman and Surabhi Lakshmi as part of its cast.
