Aparajita Ghosh joins the cast of Srijit’s next X=Prem

Fresh off his success of Netflix’s Ray, Srijit Mukherjee is ready to bounce to his next project X=Prem, a love story that revolves around a young couple and how they overcome the various challenges in their lives. It will be a unique futuristic spin on the cliched college romance and a breath of fresh air in romantic spiels.

The movie will have Arjun Chakraborty and Madhurima Basak being paired on-screen for the first time. Anindya Sengupta and Shruti Das are also set to make their acting debuts in the movie, and now the newest addition to the star-studded cast is Aparajita Ghosh.

Sharing details with ETimes, Aparajita expressed her excitement of finally getting an opportunity to work with Srijit, whom she has known for several years now and has been like a mentor to her. Praising him, she commented that it has been a great experience to work in the movie, as Srijit knows exactly what he wants from the actors, which is supplemented by a lovely script, and other talented artistes in the cast. Without divulging much information, Aparajita elaborated that her role is a cameo, but quite different and unique from her previous bodies of work.

Produced by SVF Entertainment, X=Prem started its production from July 2, and is scheduled to release on February 4, 2022. Srijit Mukherjee will also soon start filming for his upcoming Hindi film Shabaash Mithu, starring Taapsee Pannu, which is based on cricketer Mithali Raj's life.
