April 2022 Week 2 OTT movies, web series India releases: From Mai to Dhahanam

In the second week of April 2022, many new series are dropping on the OTT platforms across languages. One of the most awaited series, Mai, starring Sakshi Tanwar in the titular role, is premiering on Netflix this week. Ram Gopal Varma's Dahanam is also streaming on MX Player and Gaalivaana is also dropping on ZEE5 this week. The Josh Brolin starrer Outer Range is finally premiering on Amazon Prime Video and The Kardashians, the Hulu original, will stream on Disney+ Hotstar.

Dhahanam - April 14 (MX Player)

The assassination of Sri Ramulu, a communist labourer, raises a stir in Ram Gopal Varma's latest action-packed chapter, Dhahanam. Sri Ramulu's oldest son, Hari, is a Naxalite rebel operating out of the forest, waging guerilla warfare against the landlords, and he is enraged by his father's death. He decides to track down the individual responsible for his father's death, igniting a feud between the village's most powerful goons.

Gaalivaana - April 14 (ZEE5)

An unknown injured man appears at the doorway of Ajay and Geetha's families shortly after they are brutally murdered. Is he the murderer, or is there a twist in the story?

Hard Cell - April 12 (Netflix)

Hard Cell is a documentary-style comedy set in HMP Woldsley, a fictional female jail. Catherine Tate, the show's creator and writer, portrays a variety of characters, including Laura Willis, the Governor who believes that creativity leads to rehabilitation, and Big Viv, the psychopath lifer. The inmates practice a musical directed by ex-Eastenders star Cheryl Fergison over six weeks. Rehearsals bring together a diverse group of women as they discover their voices, gain confidence, and develop their bonds. Hard Cell delves into the humorous reality of prison life, and it's both funny and moving.

Laura Willis, an event planner turned women's prison governor, chronicles the ups and downs of life behind bars in this brilliantly caustic comedy series.

Outer Range - April 15 (Amazon Prime Video)

The First Lady - April 15 (VOOT Select)
