For the legions of fans who had thronged the Marakkuma Nenjam concert held at OMR in Chennai yesterday, it was nothing but sheer disappointment and agony. Not only was the venue overcrowded, many fans went through stampedes and even got injured in the mele. Ever since last night, X has been abuzz with angry fans sharing their trauma on social media. Some even went on to call the event the biggest scam of 2023.

AR Rahman changes his Twitter bio?
Amid all the frenzy, it looks like composer AR Rahman's X (formerly known as Twitter) has changed its bio. His bio now reads, "Tweets by Administrator (sic)" and it was noticed by many of his fans. The composer later oppned up on the incident, and wrote, "Dearest Chennai Makkale, those of you who purchased tickets and weren’t able to enter owing to unfortunate circumstances, please do share a copy of your ticket purchase to arr4chennai@btos.in along with your grievances. Our team will respond asap @BToSproductions @actcevents (sic)."

What has irked the fans further is that the composer's handle has not issued any apology for the debacle. Social media users have been sharing their shock and disappointment on the composer's latest move.

Organisers issue 'non-apology'
Meanwhile, the apology issued by the organisers has not gone well with the audience. The post read, "Grateful to Chennai and the legendary @arrahman Sir! The incredible response, the overwhelming crowd made our show a massive success. Those who couldn't attend due to overcrowding, Our sincere apologies. We take full responsibility and accountable. We are with you. #MarakkumaNenjam (sic)."

A user wrote on X, "Are they kidding me? TAKE accountability for your FUCK up. The horrors we went through. With us? And what? Where were the organisers yesterday to manage crowding, stampede, the chaos & harassment? #MarakkumaNenjam #ARRahman #ARRConcert @arrahman @actcevents (sic)."

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police DGP Shankar Jiwal has ensured that an investigation will be held into the poor management at the concert.
