AR Rahman has reportedly filed a defamation case against the Association of Surgeons of India (ASICON).

AR Rahman was at the receiving end of criticism for reported 'mismanagement' at his Chennai concert. Last month, the musician hit the headlines for the controversy over his concert. A few weeks after the incident, Rahman once again faced the heat after the Association of Surgeons of India registered a complaint against him.
The association alleged that AR Rahman took a sum of Rs 29 lakh for a concert but never conducted one. Now, it's being reported that the 56-year-old has filed a defamation suit against the surgeons' association.
AR Rahman files Rs 10 crore defamation case: Report
According to the India Today report, AR Rahman's counsel has dismissed all allegations leveled against the musician. After ASICON registered a complaint against Rahman, his team responded to them by demanding a whopping Rs 10 crore for an attempt to defame the celebrated music personality.
As per the media report, AR's counsel sent a legal notice to the Association of Surgeons of India to withdraw the complaint against Rahman within three days. He also mentioned about third parties being involved and the musician being unaware of the same. The complaint filed by the association reportedly mentions that AR received Rs 29 lakh in 2018.
For that matter, the legal notice had a mention of an unconditional apology to be offered by the association. Besides that, the musician's counsel demanded a compensation of Rs 10 crore for defaming him.

AR Rahman had earlier put up a tweet about his Chennai concert on X. "Dearest Chennai Makkale, those of you who purchased tickets and weren’t able to enter owing to unfortunate circumstances, please do share a copy of your ticket purchase to arr4chennai@btos.in along with your grievances. Our team will respond asap @BToSproductions @actcevents (sic)," he wrote on the platform.
