It looks like actress Shamlee was the cynosure of all eyes as she held her solo art exhibition, SHE Solo Art Show in Chennai recently. Shamlee's sister, former actress Shalini showed her support to her sister as she turned up with her children, Anoushka and Aadvik Ajithkumar. Shalini's brother Richard, too, was present on the occasion. However, Ajith Kumar gave it a miss.
The event was attended by some of the big names in the industry including AR Rahman, Mani Ratnam, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Nirav Shah, Arjun Sarja, Aishwarya Arjun, Shiva,to name a few.
Shamlee was seen spending some quality time with the Ponniyin Selvan filmmaker, with whom she worked in Anjali (1990). It is to be noted that Shamlee shot to fame with the film in which she played a mentally challenged girl. She also went on to bag the National Award for the Best Child Artiste for her performance in it. In fact, even after three decades, she is referred to as Anjali Papa, her character in the film.
Shamili made her debut in films with Vijayakant's Rajanadai. She was barely two years old then. She then went on work as a child artiste in films, including Malootty, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Mathe Haditu Kogile , Durga,Kilukkampetti, Kandukondein Kandukondein to name a few.
She made her debut as a leading lady in Oye! (2009) opposite Siddharth. However, her career as a heroine was short-lived as her films Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti, Veera Sivaji and Ammammagarillu barely made an impact.
She then took the plunge into painting and the former actress had her first international show in Dubai a few years ago. The actress is quite active on social media and regularly shares pictures of her work. Her paintings have become the talk of the town and are a hit on social media-
