We have earlier seen Kathir direct movies like Kadhalar Dhinam and Kadhal Desam, where most of his movies carry the subject of love. Similarly, his movies are known to carry a blockbuster soundtrack, composed by AR Rahman like Mustafa Mustafa and Roja Roja. This time the duo will be getting back together after 19 years of working on a musical love story. The movie will be produced by Ranganathan, who will be launching his song Kishore for the upcoming movie. The director, who had earlier launched actors like Abbas (Kadhal Desam), Rambha (Uzhavan) and Sridevi Vijaykumar (Kadhal Virus) will be doing the same for the debutant actor.

This will be Kathir’s first Tamil movie in 19 years after Kadhal Virus. The director’s last venture was in 2016, with a Kannada movie Nan Love Track that featured newcomers Rakshith Gowda and Nidhi Kushalappa in lead roles. According to a report by TOI, he had been working on a couple of international projects and was getting offers to direct over the years. He felt that things were falling into place finally and that he had decided to make a comeback in the upcoming musical love story and also reuniting with AR Rahman. Talking about the producer, he mentioned that Ranganathan had approached the director to launch his son in the Tamil film industry, for which he agreed in doing as he had already done so for his earlier movies.

Here is the chartbuster song from Director Kathir's Kadhal Desam, Mustafa Mustafa.
