Marakkuma Nenjam, the much-awaited second single from Silambarasan TR's upcoming film, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, was released today. Taking to his social media page, Silambarasan released the song, "Here it is, The Soulful song #MarakkumaNenjam from @SilambarasanTR_@menongautham's #VendhuThanindhathuKaadu in @arrahman Musical ❤️ : https://youtu.be/g0sYCahy_vg Prod by @VelsFilmIntl @IshariKGanesh A @RedGiantMovies_ Release @Udhaystalin @MShenbagamoort3 #VTKFromSep15 (sic)." 

The song is a melodious soulful number sung by AR Rahman himself and gives a glimpse of Muthu, Silambarasan's character in the film with pictures.The album has three songs - Kaalathukkum Nee Venum, Muthu's Journey and Marakkuma Nenjam. Kaalathukkum Nee Venum, sung by Silamabarasan and Rakshita Suresh, with lyrics penned by Thamarai, was released earlier. Cinematography is by Siddhartha Nuni and editing is by Anthony. 

The film, directed by Gautham Menon, has Silambarasan TR and Siddhi Idnani in the lead roles. Silambarasan had shed weight for his role as the film captures his journey from a teenager to an adult. The supporting cast includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Siddique, Neeraj Madhav and Aangelina Abraham. 

The post production for the film is on in full swing and Silambarasan had recently revealed that he had completed dubbing for the film. Siddhi Idnani, too, has dubbed for her portions. Sharing a picture with the film's director, Gautham Menon, Idnani had written on her social media page, "Andddd that’s a wrap for Paavai’s dubbing🤍 Thank you @menongautham sir for believing in me and letting me DUB for myself. Dreams do come true… still can’t believe I am a GVM Heroine! 🧿🥹♥️🤍#VendhuThanindhathuKaadu (sic)." 

The film's title has been borrowed from a poem penned by Mahakavi Subramanya Bharati. The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights have been bagged by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. The film is all set to hit screens on September 15. This is the third feature film of Gautham Menon and Silambarasan together after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (2010) and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016).
