About Aranyar Prachin Probad

Aranyar Prachin Probad (2024) is a Bengali detective thriller film about Aranya Chatterjee, a medical student and cricket fan who becomes a detective accidentally, helping his brother-in-law, CID officer Sudarshan Halder (Shilajit Majumder), solve the murder of Dr Amit Roy in Panaghat. 

Dr. Amit Roy, a sincere doctor at a rural hospital, is murdered after refusing to join in corrupt activities, leaving the local police stunned. Aranya, a sharp medical student with a knack for observation, acts as an unexpected ally to CID officer Sudarshan.

The investigation into the murders has revealed a web of money, power and misconduct within the local healthcare system. They uncover the layers of lies, realising that the murder is not a simple crime but is deeply entwined with financial power and systemic misconduct in the healthcare industry.
