It was only about a week ago, the makers of Arasan the upcoming Tamil film, announced going on floors. The film is directed by Vetrimaaran and headlined by Silambarasan. Arasan has already been announced as part of the Vada Chennai world, making fans curious to know how the two films will be connected. In the latest, actor and singer Andrea Jeremiah’s post has increased curiosity about her character’s involvement, given she played the iconic Chandra in Vada Chennai.
Arasan: Vada Chennai Chandra to be the crossover link?
Director Vetrimaaran and actor Silambarasan will be coming together for the first time with the upcoming Tamil film Arasan. The film is in the making, and has gone on floors only a few days back. Meanwhile actor and singer Andrea Jeremiah had put out a picture of herself as Chandra, her notable character from Vada Chennai. This seems like a hint that Chandra might be the link for the crossover between Arasan and Vada Chennai universe.
Vetrimaaran had earlier clarified that although Arasan is not the sequel to Vada Chennai (which will only be made with Dhanush), it will be set within the same world. Andrea played Chandra, Rajan’s (Ameer) wife, who plans for revenge after her husband is hacked to death by gangsters. It looks like Andrea has joined the shooting of Arasan as Chandra recently, resuming her role. Arasan is also set to feature Vijay Sethupathi and will have music by Anirudh Ravichander.

Meanwhile, Andrea’s last film to hit theatres was Mask, a heist drama co-starring Kavin and directed by Vikarnan Ashok in his debut. Andrea played the antagonist in the film besides producing it. With ZEE5 bagging the OTT rights, Mask will also be available soon on OTTplay Premium as well. The film is tentatively expected to premiere late December or early January 2026. An official release date is yet to be revealed.
