He came, he saw, and he conquered the hearts of his fans. Arijit Singh is known to walk opposite the stream, and his concert on Saturday at Aquatica Waterpark was no exception. The entire New Town came to a standstill due to his concert, attended by not less than 10 thousand people. Arijit opened his mouth on the Gerua debate and called Rupam Islam his ‘rockstar’. His humble attitude was praised everywhere.
Rupam was at the show and together they sang Ei Ekta Ghor Amar Desh. Arijit also sang Bhindeshi Tara of Chandrabindoo, Ami Shudhu Cheyechi Tomay of Cactus, Prithibi of Moheen, and so on. The social media remained abuzz with related posts of appreciation after the gala show on Saturday.
Meanwhile, many Tollywood celebs were present in the audience. Filmmaker Raj Chakraborty's presence was not missed by Arijit. The first blockbuster Bengali song in his career was Bojhe Na Se Bojhe Na, recorded more than a decade back for Raj’s film. This was a song at the start of his career, but it is still popular among the youth.
The song was in the concert’s playlist. Arijit was nostalgic before singing the song. “Memories are coming back. Rajda is the man who first thought that I could show my face in a video. I did not have that confidence in myself. But he thought that I should be in the video. That was my first song, is it not, Raj da? (Raj nods yes from the audience). Thank you so much, Raj da!” he said.
Bojhe Na Se Bojhe Na was released in 2012. Meri Aashiqui Tum Ho was not released then. Raj Chakraborty identified Arijit's talent much before he became India's heartthrob. Arijit Singh expressed gratitude to the director. Subhasree sat beside Raj. She was also singing from her seat, becoming emotional.
