For the first time, when the glimpse of Ami Je Tomar was heard in the trailer for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, fans couldn't contain their excitement on knowing that they would get to hear their favourite singer Arijit Singh's version. However, soon after the film was released, many realised that it was not him but Tushar Joshi's voice that was heard in the theatres.

Joshi took to his Instagram page and also clarified the same. He wrote, "I have been getting a lot of messages asking about the song Ami Je Tomar in the film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Yes, it is my voice. I myself was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for noticing, for those who noticed. All comments are appreciated. Thank you, Pritam da."

However, on Saturday, the makers released the Ami Je Tomar song sung by Arijit Singh. The video features the lead actor, Kartik Aaryan, performing Tandav, and fans couldn't stop raving about it.

Meanwhile, many even wish for the Tushar Joshi version of Ami Je Tomar to be released soon. One of the fans asked, "Why didn't T Series release the Tushar Joshi version of Ami Je Tomar? Personally, I liked that version more." To which he replied, "It's alright."

However, Kartik tagged both Singh and Joshi while sharing the song video on his social media pages.

Ami Je Tomar is composed by Pritam Chakraborty while the lyrics are penned by Sameer. Meanwhile, the iconic track is the reprised version of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa song, also known as Mere Dholna, which is crooned by Shreya Ghoshal. Interestingly, the Anees Bazmee directorial also features a female version sung by her.

Meanwhile, on its second Friday, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 had a strong showing, grossing 6.25 crore nett, a 15% decline from the previous day. The film did exceptionally well after the afternoon, owing to poor reviews for the other films, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 became the preferred option.
