The upcoming film marks Kunchacko’s first direct to OTT film, and his most recent collaboration with director Mahesh, after the 2017 film Take Off. In an exclusive conversation with OTTplay, the actor had talked about how excited he was for the film. Mahesh has also scripted the film as well, and Kunchacko believed that Ariyippu marked the director’s best script yet.

On his preparation for the role, the actor had revealed that he cut down his sleep to about four hours per day, to make sure the stress and disquietedness his character went through looked more authentic on screen. In addition to starring in the film, Kunchacko has also co-produced it along with Mahesh.

The film was shot across locations in Delhi, Noida and Faridabad. The director had told OTTplay that half of the film was in Hindi, and the rest in Malayalam.

Ariyippu had premiered at the 75th Locarno Film Festival, and was also showcased at Busan International Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival.
