The comedy entertainer is directed by actor Ganapathy’s brother Chidambaram
Seems like Mollywood has changed tracks from thrillers to feel-good movies of late. On Monday, the makers of Jan-E-Man let out its first look poster, which is packed with colour and characters.
The movie, which is directed by actor Ganapathy’s brother Chidambaram who had assisted Jayaraj, Rajeev Ravi and KU Mohanan, is touted to be a feel-good entertainer revolving around the concept of love between couples, parents, siblings and friends.
The poster, which featured actors such as Arjun Ashokan, Lal, Riya Saira, Basil Joseph, Sajin Gopu, Balu Varghese, Abhiram Radhakrishnan and Siddharth Menon, promises the film to be a treat for those who enjoy comedy, given its cast.
In an interview with Kochi Times, the film’s director Chidambaram talked about the characters essayed by Basil and Arjun in the movie.
Basil plays the role of a nurse working in Canada. As revealed in the teaser that was released last month, the movie apparently kicks off with the character returning to Kerala owing to loneliness to celebrate his birthday. The earlier teaser had Basil’s character trudging through snow in an isolated corner of the world in one scene and conversing with his friend played by Siddharth in the next.
Arjun, meanwhile, plays a luxury car dealer and real estate broker named Sampath in the movie. The filmmaker said that though his character discontinued education after Class 11 owing to family problems, he is someone who “loves branded gadgets and shows them off as a person who earns his own money”.
The movie has cinematography by Vishnu Thandessery with Bijibal handling its music department.
