Kalyan Ram, who gave one of the biggest hits with Patas, has been doing some really interesting work in the last few years. He has now teamed up with legendary actress Vijaya Shanthi for an action drama titled Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi, which hit the screens on April 18, 2025.

Pradeep Chilikuri directed the film on a massive scale, and it opened to some mixed reviews. But as the makers promoted the film aggressively, the day-one collections were decent. As per the latest update, Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi has made Rs 3 crore net on day one of its release worldwide.
Though the plot and storyline were quite routine, the presentation was different, and this helped the film at the box office. The other release, Odela 2, featuring Tamannah Bhatia of Naa Nuvve, Oosaravelli, and Happy Days fame, did not do much at the box office, giving an undue advantage to Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi.
The action drama revolves around a mother and son who are at loggerheads due to their principles in life. While the mother plays a cop, the son takes the wrong path. The last twenty minutes of the film have been showcased in a very gripping and emotional manner. The climax twist and how it was designed are getting decent applause. How the Osey Ramulamma star, Vijaya Shanthi, performed in these scenes is getting a thumbs up.

However, the major complaint about the film is that it follows a very routine story that was often seen in films of the 90s. Saiee Manjrekar played the female lead in this film, which also marks the Telugu debut of Sohail Khan. He was seen as the main villain, but his role is getting trolled as he did not perform well, according to the reviews.
The OTT platform is yet to be locked, but as per the buzz, Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi will have its OTT release in the third week of May 2025.
