There have been rumours circulating that production on Vishal Bhardwaj's Arjun Ustara had halted; however, those with knowledge of the situation have denied the rumours. Production on the film, which stars Shahid Kapoor (watch Vivah), Triptii Dimri, and Randeep Hooda, is moving forward as planned in the Bandra region of Mumbai.
The rumours are completely unfounded, according to a Mid Day report. The crew has been filming regularly and according to schedule with no major delays. Production is underway on a daily basis. Reports of a production standstill were denied by an insider who spoke with the tabloid on behalf of the unit.
Where, therefore, did these assumptions originate? Rumours started circulating, according to sources, since a unique dance number that was supposed to be performed in early April was postponed.
Due to the unavailability of the desired dancers and a general dissatisfaction with the song's style and atmosphere, the shoot was postponed. According to the source, the shoot has been rescheduled.
In January of 2025, production began on the action-drama film directed by Bhardwaj (watch Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley). The production has progressed continuously with the exception of a brief hiatus since the beginning.
The most recent schedule started in the latter week of April after a two-week hiatus. Regrettably, the postponement of the dance sequence shooting occurred during that period. These rumours might have originated there. The rest, however, is proceeding according to schedule. Another insider told the tabloid that they had a jam-packed agenda in Europe in June, beginning in Georgia.
Production on Arjun Ustara is set to conclude in June 2025.
Curiously, Bhardwaj has been keeping an eye on the Hussain Ustara gangster narrative for some time. According to rumours, the late Irrfan Khan was supposed to play Ustara alongside Deepika Padukone in the filmmaker's original script for Sapna Didi's biography. Regrettably, the filmmaker never completed such an endeavour.
Arjun Ustara is Bhardwaj's return to the realm of criminal drama and intrigue, and this time the cameras aren't stopping.
