After having made her showbiz debut with the Salman Khan starrer Bollywood film ‘Veer’, Zareen Khan went onto do a handful of films in different languages. Even though she was initially compared constantly to Katrina Kaif for their stark resemblance, eventually, Zareen managed to carve a name for herself in Bollywood.
The latest update about Zareen Khan is that a Kolkata court has now issued an arrest warrant against Zareen Khan, as per a report in India Today. The arrest warrant is in connection with an alleged cheating case, which stated that she had agreed to attend a Durga pooja in teh year 2018. But, when she had not attended the event, there was a case which was reportedly registered against her in the year 2018. The report stated that, the IO (Investigating Officer) of the said case had submitted the required chargesheet against Zareen Khan in Kolkata’s Sealdah court.
Its being reported that, Zareen Khan had neither appealed for bail nor had she appeared before the court. And because of her repeated absence, the court had issued an arrest warrant against Zareen Khan. Speaking to the aforementioned publication, Zareen Khan said that she had no clarity on the matter and also that she was pretty sure that there was no truth to it. She added that she was surprised and that she was am checking with her lawyer and only after that, she would be able to give some clarity.
As per the police (as mentioned in the news report), what had happened was that one of the event organizers had filed a written complaint of cheating against Zareen Khan and her manager. Following which, an FIR (First Information Report) was registered against both and that they had been asked to appear for questioning. At that time, Zareen Khan who had reportedly shown up for the questioning, had claimed that she had been misguided by the organizers. She had also allegedly claimed that the organizers had claimed that the said event would be attended by Bengal's chief minister and many heavyweight ministers.
